Who & Where?
Membership in the Chandler/Gilbert Y-Adventure Guides is open to any father/son in the East Valley. Most participants live in Chandler or Gilbert, but we also have members from Tempe, Mesa and Apache Junction. For new members, the boys should be in grades K-4. Returning boys sometimes remain in the program through grade 5 or 6.
Cost?
For a father and one child, the Guides annual membership is $20 for YMCA facility members and $70 for non-members. Each additional child is $10 for YMCA facility members and $35 for non-members. Membership includes a T-shirt for each participant.
Please note that in addition to the membership fee, a nominal fee is collected for each campout -- typically $20/family for a weekend. The Guides program campouts and awards (patches, trophies, etc.) are made possible by the fund-raising efforts of the volunteer fathers, by corporate donations and by the fees collected at the campouts. Every effort is made to minimize these additional fees, so that participation in the Guides activities is not too financially burdensome. We are proud to have the lowest camping fees of any Guides program in the United States!
How Do I Sign Up?
Download and print out the Registration Form (must have Adobe Acrobat Reader) and bring it to the Chandler/Gilbert YMCA with your payment or click here to pay online. If you have a friend in the Guides, be sure to include the name of their Circle under "Circle Preference."
When Can I Sign Up?
Any time! The Guides program events are scheduled from September through June, but new members can join at any time. It's never too late in the school year to start having some father/son fun and adventure!
